10分鐘Grammar精讀 學英文最討厭的就是似懂非懂，模模糊糊，永遠在學卻永遠學不會。每天花10分鐘精讀文法，學英文毫無疲勞感，但你一定要確定這十分鐘，你弄懂一個文法概念。 after，behind After和behind，在中文裡都叫做....之後，所以很容易被混淆。
After和behind的區別有以下幾點：
一般說來，after指時間的先後次序，意為"在…之後"（later in time than）； behind指位置的前後，意為"在…後面"（in the rear of）。例如： I shall be free after ten o'clock．十點之後我有空。 The stadium is located behind the hill．運動場在山丘的後面。
after常用以指順序，意為"跟在…之後"、"接着"、"接連"（in succession or next to in order）； behind 則表示"隱藏在後"、"背着"或"遺留在後"之意。如：
After you，please！您先請！（出門或進門時的客套用語）
You should put the direct object after the indirect object．你應該把直接受詞放在間接受詞之後。
The policemen are searching for the robbers door after door．警察正在挨家挨户地搜查搶匪。
Day after day and year after year… 日復一日，年復一年……。
Don't stand behind the door．不要躲在門背後。
Don't speak evil of a man behind his back．不要在背後說人壞話。
Who is behind the scenes？誰是幕後人？
在某些場合下，after和behind可以互換使用，但涵義有所不同。
如：
（1） Shut the door after you．
（2）Shut the door behind you．
（1）句的意思是"隨手關門"，after含有離開與關門兩個動作的先後的意味； （2）句的意思是"關上你背後的門"，behind表示門的静止狀態的意味，正因為如此，我們通常說：Don't stand behind the door，而不說：Don't stand after the door。
值得注意的是，在另一些場合下，after和behind 在互換使用後，意思沒有差別。
如：
John came in after Alice．
John came in behind Alice．
The dog ran after its master．
The dog ran behind its master．
