愈來愈多民眾投入國家考試、想擔任公務員，現在連台電招考830名基層人員，得爬電線桿配電線路維護、抄表等，常常等上山下海，訓練期間月薪23K，高中職畢業即可報考，不料卻吸引了11名博士、2100多名碩士、1.2萬大學畢業者報考，其中碩博士報考人數還創歷年新高。

台電今年招考830名基層員工，這是繼2010年以來招募的290人再度招考，需求人力是將近當年的3倍。這次招募的藍領職務人員，包括需要爬電線桿的配電線路維護、登高塔的高空輸電線路維護、抄表和電機維修等，多數是需要高體力或輪班的辛苦職缺。

這次台電在北中南東4地舉辦招考，總報考人數達18773人，光是大學畢業以上的學歷就達到8成；其中碩博士人數，今年11名博士和2138名碩士，比起4年前碩博士人數1802還多出2成，創下歷年新高。根據《蘋果日報》報導，不少年約30歲上下的報考民眾表示，月薪大多3萬出頭，但已3年沒調薪，儘管台電的受訓期間僅23K，但工作穩定不用擔心裁員。

台電人員表示，一旦錄取受訓滿1年，薪水會從23K到27K，正式錄用則有30K，滿1年後可升等，薪水可增3千多元；每3-5年可再升等，再加3千多元。儘管上月失業率為3.85%，是連續第3個月下降，也是近6年來的新低，景氣有逐漸復甦的跡象。但這次台電招考大專以上學歷報考人數創新高，仍說明台灣近年經濟和就業市場不穩定，台電的工作穩定，才會讓愈來愈多人想要爭取爬電線桿。
