飛魚長相奇特，胸鰭特別發達，像鳥類的翅膀一樣。<br>
長長的胸鰭一直延伸到尾部，整個身體像織布的「長梭」。<br>
它憑借自己流線型的優美體型，在海中以每秒10米的速度高速運動。<br>
它能夠躍出水面十幾米，空中停留的最長時間是40多秒，飛行的最遠距離有400多米。<br>
飛魚的背部顏色和海水接近，它經常在海水表面活動。<br>
