在過去的十多年中，喬納森和安吉拉·司各特夫婦一直追踪著非洲大草原上的大型貓科動物們，為英國廣播公司製作紀錄片《大貓日記》，不過當前由於經費問題，這個頂級的野生動物紀錄片不得不告一段落。雖然不需要繼續拍攝紀錄片，司各特夫婦還是繼續關注著這些大型貓科動物的生活，並且出版了《大貓日記中的明星》一書。 <br>

《大貓日記》的成功很大程度上要歸功於60歲的喬納森對於野生動物行為的洞察力。<br>
