Sunrex to See 80% Revenue Growth in Q1, 2010

With the global economic recovery triggering strong demand for notebook PCs worldwide, Sunrex Corp., the world`s the largest supplier of keypads for notebook PCs, has enjoyed solid shipments this year and expects to see an 80% growth in sales revenue in the first quarter of the year, according to institutional investors. <BR><BR>The firm shipped 6.4 million keypads in January, 1.56 times more than 2.5 million units shipped a year earlier, and scored combined revenue of NT$1.36 billion (US$42.5 million at US$1: NT$32) and pretax profits of NT$134 million (US$4.18 million), up 85% and 96.5%, respectively. <BR><BR>The firm posted shipment of 3.25 million keypads in February 2009, and the notebook PC market boom is very likely to further push up the figure this year. Besides, the firm`s production lines have been booked till the end of this March, helping to boost its confidence of attaining a growth rate of up to 80% in sales revenue for the first quarter. <BR><BR>At present, 85% of the firm`s sales revenue is contributed by keypads for notebook PCs, and the remainder by models for mobile phones and other electronic devices. The firm last year shipped over 59 million various keypads last year, growing by 30% from 2008, and reported combined revenue ofNT$13.223 billion (US$413.22 million) and pretax profits of NT$1.339 billion (US$41.84 million), rising 32% and 18%, respectively. <BR><BR>Also, the firm`s profit performance for the first quarter is also expected to soar, as its IMR (in-mold roller) technology-treated keypads, which generate 30% more margins than models for conventional notebook PCs, have been added to the firm`s available categories, and models for netbook PCs have also been heavily ordered by clients so far. <BR>
